As Chopta is more of a trek destination for the adventurous souls than your tourists’ folks, there is not much sightseeing available at Chopta. However, the visit to the Tungnath temple is always a beautiful reward. At an elevation of 3,800 mts, it is considered the highest Shiva shrine in the world. Pilgrims visiting the Char Dham pilgrimage tend to visit Tungnath to offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Shiva

Tungnath peacefully adorned on the Chandranath Parvat is the highest Shiva temple in the world and the highest Panch Kedar temple of Uttarakhand.


Chandrashilla Peak - Summit Snow Trek

Chandrashila that literally suggests the ‘Moon Rock’ is the summit of the Chandranath Parvat on which the Tungnath temple of Panch Kedar is situated. The majestic Chandrashila summit serves as a vantage point that offers a heavenly panorama of the Great Himalayas.




Sari Village - Perfect for Village Tour

Located at an elevation of 2000 mts, Sari Village is a scenic hamlet at a distance of about 20 kms before Chopta hill station. The village is enclosed by oak and rhododendron trees and resides calmly in the lap of the Himalayas.


Ukhimath - Winter Seat of Kedarnath

Ukhimath is situated at an elevation of 1317 mts above sea level in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state. Ukhimath is also written as Okhimath sometimes. Ukhimath is the home of Lord Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar during winters. Worship is performed at the Omkareshwar Temple here during winters, when the temple of Kedarnath remains closed.


Bisurital

Perched at an height 4000 meters, Bisurital is a high altitude lake located in the Mandakini valley. This high altitude lake is located near Chopta and is one the hidden trekking destination in Uttarakhand. Due to its relative obscurity, not many trekkers are aware of Bisudi Tal's existence.
